Daycare Photo Journal

July 2008: So, great, great news: Billy has returned to us from the clutches of the Army National Guard, where he spent June learning to be a Military Policeman in Smyrna, Tennessee. We were worried that they'd convince him to stay and be all he could be, but the call of the dogs was just too compelling. Whew! So now instead of employing just one token male, this female-driven, minority-owned small business can brag on our open-mindedness and commitment to diversity, witness our three, count 'em three! chromosomally challenged staffers. (Just kidding, guys, you so rock!) On the kennel front, we're not only open, but thoroughly exhausted from being completely sold out over the July 4th holiday. We're still struggling with new policies, procedures, and pricing, not to mention continually losing ground in the battle with our new software system. Angie is extremely proud of her brand new bouncing baby kennel, though, so please grab her for a site tour the next time you're in the vicinity. Come to ponder, it's not a terrible idea to make reservations for Thanksgiving and Christmas if there is any chance that your precious angels will be looking to join the pajama party. I wouldn't have believed that we'd be sold out a month after opening, but the 53 dogs that celebrated the Fourth with us proved  otherwise. In other news, we hosted a record of 106 daycare dogs on Friday, June 20th, and wasn't THAT just a whole bunch of furry fun! It's not quite as insane as it sounds, though; we divide the group play into four separate (but equal) classes: Littles, 'Tweeners, General Session, and Special Ed (where Nancy teaches English as a second language). Plus, Leanne has completed her initial cross-training on Big Dogs, so our crack staff is not only fluent, but also flexible. I hope you'll enjoy these pictures of their many frolics and frenzies. Remember, too, that Alt+Tab will flip you back to that spreadsheet you're supposed to be working on if the boss drops in. Stay cool if you can!  -- Bev
