AKC Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog Certifications

Play Dog Excellent is delighted to offer certification testing for AKC's Canine Good Citizen program and Therapy Dog International's therapy dog program. Please see below for details and call us at 423-870-7740 if you have any questions.

• Cost: CGC $10     TDI $10     Both tests $20  Cash only, exact change required
  Optional: $5 for a 4x6 photo of your dog to send in with the TDI certification paperwork.

Other		Dogs who are registered with another therapy dog organization will not be approved by TDI. Dogs that have bitten a person will not be approved by TDI, regardless of circumstances.

What you'll need to bring:

* Training collars, head harnesses, and prong collars are not allowed. Martingale collars are allowed, as are non-restrictive pet harnesses, but training harnesses (SENSE-ation™, no-pull, etc.) are not allowed. The TDI test does not allow slip collars or choke chains.

Other:

• Both tests encourage verbal praise and touching as rewards, but do not allow toys or treats during the test.
• Our indoor arena is not heated or air conditioned, so please dress appropriately.
• Your dog will be judged on appearance and grooming, so be sure to clip nails, clean ears, and give a good once-over to spiff up the coat.
